College sports programs in divisions like NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA are looking for more than just talent. They want individuals who bring passion, dedication, and a strong work ethic to the team.


Remember that you are a student-athlete first, meaning your duties and responsibilities go beyond the field or court. You’re balancing your academics while also excelling in your sport! It’s also essential to understand that only a small percentage of college athletes ever make it to the professional level. Therefore, you must always be prepared for a future beyond your sport and excel academically.

As you prepare for the exciting adventure ahead, let’s recap some essential duties and responsibilities you’ll have as a college athlete:


  1. Academics Matter: Always prioritize your studies. Good grades keep you eligible to play sports and help you reach your dream school!
